The cream cheese adds a velvety texture, while a touch of vanilla brings out a warm, comforting flavor. Ingredients
-
8 oz (1 block) cream cheese, at room temperature
-
¾ cup granulated sugar
-
½ cup all-purpose flour
-
2 large eggs
-
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
-
¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
Step 1: Prep & Preheat
Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease and flour an 8- or 9-inch round cake pan to prevent sticking.
Step 2: Mix Wet Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth and creamy. Add the sugar and mix until well combined. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, making sure each egg is fully incorporated. Stir in the vanilla extract and melted butter until the batter is silky and smooth.
Step 3: Add Dry Ingredients
Gradually fold in the flour, mixing gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the cake tender.
Step 4: Bake
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan. Smooth the top with a spatula and bake for 45–50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Step 5: Cool & Serve
Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely. Once cooled, slice into wedges and serve.
