🧺 Ingredients

For the Crust

  • 2 refrigerated pie crusts (or homemade if you prefer)

For the Apple Filling

  • 8 cups thinly sliced, peeled apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work best)

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • ¼ cup brown sugar

  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour

  • 1½ tsp ground cinnamon

  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For the Glaze (Optional)

  • 1 cup powdered sugar

  • 2–3 tbsp milk

  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

  • Lightly flour your surface and roll out both pie crusts to fit a 15×10-inch sheet pan.

  • Place one crust in the pan, pressing it into the corners and edges.

2. Make the Apple Filling

  • In a large bowl, combine the apples, sugars, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and vanilla.

  • Toss until apples are evenly coated.

3. Assemble the Pie

  • Spread the apple filling evenly over the crust in the pan.

  • Place the second crust on top. Pinch the edges to seal, and cut a few slits in the top to allow steam to escape.

4. Bake to Golden Perfection

  • Bake for 40–45 minutes, until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.

  • Remove from oven and let cool slightly.

5. Add the Glaze (Optional)

  • Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.

  • Drizzle over the cooled pie before slicing into squares or bars.

✨ Tips & Variations

  • Add a handful of chopped pecans or walnuts for a crunchy twist.

  • For extra decadence, serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream 🍨.

  • If you love caramel, drizzle warm caramel sauce over the top instead of glaze.
